Sony and IPWireless Team to Work on Next-Gen Networks

Sony Corporation and IPWireless today announced a partnership to research and develop wireless technologies for upcoming data networks. The partnership will initially focus on LTE technology for 4G networks, but won't be limited to the network standard. The two companies will work to enhance and expand the current capabilities of 3GPP technologies with the goal of contributing the new creations to the 3GPP spec. No specific innovations or goals were announced, and the collaboration will be based out of IPWireless' technology center in Chippenham, England.
