Today Google announced a new version of its Goggles product for Android devices. Goggles version 1.1 now recognizes a number of new languages, including English, French, German, Italian and Spanish. Users can take pictures of text written in these languages, and Goggles will analyze the text and return results in the language of the users choice. According to Google, the new version of Goggles also features an improved barcode recognition tool; the ability to recognize more products, logos and artwork; a re-worked user interface; and the ability to initiate visual searches using images from a phone's photo gallery. The new version of Google Goggles is available in the Android Market to all devices running Android 1.6 and up.
