The Linux Mobile (LiMo) consortium has told Reuters to expect more new LiMo-based phones this year from three major operators, and Verizon Wireless may be one. In an interview, Executive Director Morgan Gillis told Reuters that Verizon wireless is among a group of possible new carriers that includes SK Telecom in Korea, France Telecom and Telefonica. Specifically, Gillis said he expects LiMo will be available on three new carriers this year. Vodafone, which owns half of Verizon Wireless with Verizon Communications, recently began selling LiMo handsets in Europe.
