Samsung Says Galaxy S Launching in U.S. Later this Year
Jun 2, 2010, 11:17 AM by Eric M. Zeman
Today Samsung launched the Android-powered Galaxy S with over 100 network operators across Europe. The version that went on sale today in European countries includes quad-band GSM/EDGE and tri-band 900/1900/2100MHZ HSDPA and is not compatible with U.S. 3G networks. Samsung, however, committed to launching the Galaxy S in the U.S. later this year. Samsung didn't say how it would alter spectrum support of the Galaxy S to become compatible with U.S. 3G networks. It would work with AT&T if it added 850MHz, or with T-Mobile if it added AWS 1700MHz.
