Sprint Firing Up WiMAX in New York City
Jun 16, 2010, 3:01 PM by Philip Berne
Some HTC Evo 4G users are seeing 4G reception in New York City, even though Sprint's WiMAX network has not officially launched there yet. Engadget confirms that one of their own Evo 4G units was able to pick up a 4G signal in Midtown Manhattan, which corroborates reader reports. No data service was yet available, but their Evo 4G did display a 4G network connection icon. Sprint had announced earlier this year that its WiMAX network would be active in New York City this year.
