Lucent Lands $1 Billion Sprint PCS Deal

Lucent and Sprint today announced an agreement for Lucent to supply new infrastructure equipment and services to Sprint, in a new, multi-year contract valued at up to $1 billion. The deal includes base stations and switching equipment, and covers major markets across the country. The new equipment will increase coverage and capacity, as well as lay the groundwork for Sprint's planned upgrade to 1xEV-DV technology.
