NEC America announced yesterday that AT&T Wireless will be the exclusive carrier for NEC's 515 "High Definition Mobile" (HDM) handset. The 515 is the world's first quad-band GSM phone, and marks the re-entry of NEC into the U.S. market after a two-year absence. NEC's HDM handsets feature technologies such as DoJA, a version of Java created by NTT DoCoMo and Sun Microsystems. Additional key features of the 515 include a 64K color display and dual processors for fast gaming. The 515 will be available on July 28, 2003.
