T-Mobile has confirmed that Samsung Behold II users have started getting an over-the-air update this week. The update brings the phone to Android 1.6, which offers free navigation in Google Maps and Google Voice Search. In addition, Samsung is including the Swype keyboard software, as well as improvements for the media player and other core Android applications. The Bluetooth stack will also see some additional capabilities. Samsung originally promised an Android 2.0 update for this device. Android 2.0 offers few feature improvements over Android 1.6, with multiple Microsoft Exchange account support among the most significant features. The popular Live Wallpapers and Android Speech-to-Text features came to the system in Android 2.1.
