Barnes & Noble Offering Nook App for Android

Barnes & Noble today announced a version of its Nook application for Google's Android platform. The Nook eReader application allows Android users to browse and download books from its eBook store, which has a million titles. It offers adjustable fonts and text size, works in landscape or portrait mode, and has graphic page turns and a navigation bar for easy use. Barnes & Noble says that it is the first eReader application that allows for digital lending. Barnes & Noble's LendMe lets users share books with friends for a 14-day period. The application supports the ePub standard, will work across devices (Nook hardware, Android phones, PCs), and lets users pick up where they left off. The application requires devices running Android 1.6 and up. It is a free download from the Android Market.

The application requires devices running Android 1.6 and up.

And me with my 1.5 CLIQ... yet another app that I can't have. 🙄 Counting down the days until the update...

Just think of all the cool apps that you can have now though like Google Sky and Pandora. There are a lot of cool apps on 1.5 if you ask me

And besides,Aldiko is way better. It's a free app and the books are free. I don't think a book store that makes money selling acctual books should charge for online books. Why not just give us some for free and we can still buy your books in person at...
