Verizon Wireless today announced Push to Talk. The new service will allow customers to connect directly, in seconds, with other Verizon Wireless Push to Talk users by simply pressing a button on their push to talk phone. Push to Talk customers can set up and manage group-calling lists on the web. Icons on the phone indicate which users are available to participate in a walkie-talkie call. New Push to Talk service plans start at $59.99 for 400 anytime minutes, and include unlimited Push to Talk usage. The initial phone available is the Motorola v60p, which features a dedicated Push to Talk button and speakerphone. The service will be available on Monday.
