Microsoft Releases Smartphone 2003 SDK

Microsoft today released a software development kit (SDK) for its upcoming Smartphone 2003 operating system (OS) for mobile phones. The SDK will allow developers to create Smartphone applications using several new technologies, including .NET CF, C#, and Visual Basic .NET. The announcement of the SDK includes referecnces to several new features of the OS, including improved SMS, WAP Push, EMS, and MMS integration, support for IPSec and IPv6, improved Bluetooth support, enhanced Home Screens, and an upgraded Internet Explorer browser.
