Vonage today announced a new mobile application that can be used to place VoIP calls between Facebook friends. According to Vonage, the application works with iOS and Android devices and provides free calling to Facebook contacts who also have the application. Users can download the application from the iPhone App Store or Android Market, enter their Facebook log-in details, and instantly make calls. The application shows friends who have also installed the application and friends who are available for IM chats. The Vonage app offers users the opportunity to invite other Facebook friends to download the application so they may make free calls. Vonage says that the application will work anywhere in the world via 3G, 4G, or Wi-Fi, and can run in the background.
