AT&T's Chicago Wi-Fi Network Goes Live

AT&T on Wednesday announced that its Wi-Fi hotzone in Chicago is now up and running. According to AT&T, the hotzone is active in Wrigleyville — the neighborhood of restaurants and shops surrounding Wrigley Field. It provides coverage along the streets and in the outdoor areas of Wrigleyville on the south, east and west sides of the stadium. This follows similar hotzone launches in New York City's Times Square area, and downtown Charlotte, N.C. AT&T is providing the free Wi-Fi coverage to any smartphone in order to help take traffic off its 3G network in heavy usage areas.
