Aug 9, 2010, 8:44 AM by Eric M. Zeman
Texas Instruments today announced that it helped ARM conceive and define ARM's new line of Cortex-A series processor cores, codenamed "Eagle." TI says the two companies have been working on the Eagle series processors since June 2009, and TI will use the Cortex-A series cores in its own OMAP platform. In particular, IT will pair ARM's Cortex-A9 with its SmartReflex power and performance management technology. TI believes that this partnership gives it an advantage when it comes to bringing next-generation mobile computing and smartphone platforms to market faster.
