RIM Updates BESX with New Features
Aug 12, 2010, 11:03 AM by Eric M. Zeman
Research In Motion offered an update to its BlackBerry Enterprise Server Express product today. BESX is a free version of its BES, though it offers fewer features than the full BES product. BESX 5.0.2, however, adds a number of features that were recently added to BES. The new tools offered by BESX 5.0.2 include: Single sign-on for business intranets, BlackBerry Web Desktop Manager and BESX's admin tools; employee self-service tools for securing a lost or stolen device; added web browser support (Internet Explorer 8, Mozilla Firefox 3.6, Google Chrome 4.0 and Safari 4); and support for more email servers. The update is free to users of BESX. BESX hooks directly into a business' Microsoft Exchange email systems, and doesn't require a BlackBerry server.
