Verizon Awards Nortel $1 Billion Expansion Deal

Verizon Wireless today announced a US $1 billion agreement with Nortel Networks for wireless infrastructure technology. The deal includes expansion and upgrades in San Diego, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Detroit, Atlanta and Cleveland, as well as build-out and deployment in Myrtle Beach, S.C. The announcement comes just over one month after Sprint PCS announced a similar agreement with Lucent.
