Nokia and Intel today announced the creation of a new jointly run laboratory at the University of Oulu. The Intel and Nokia Joint Research Center will focus on creating better graphics technologies for mobile devices, including 3D. The first task the lab will pursue is to create a new user interface for Nokia and Intel's jointly developed MeeGo mobile operating system that incorporates 3D elements. Nokia said it didn't have a time frame for when projects such as this would be completed.
