Research In Motion has purchased a California company called Cellmania. Cellmania, which made the announcement on its web site, develops the software behind mobile application stores. According to Cellmania, it will continue to develop mobile application store software and services for RIM as well as its existing customer base. Though RIM has not commented on the acquisition, it is likely the company will use Cellmania's resources and technology to bolster its own BlackBerry App World.
