Qualcomm Forms New Lab to Focus on Services

Qualcomm today announced the formation of the Qualcomm Servies Labs, a subsidiary of Qualcomm that will focus on creating and developing new mobile applications and services. Qualcomm calls the new lab an "incubator" that will be used to foster creative new uses of technology in the mobile space. The lab will concentrate on developing new services in five main areas: communications, information/entertainment, discovery, life automation, and digital to physical. Qualcomm also announced its first four products to come from the lab: Neer, Qilroy, Tapioca, and Vive. Neer, Qilroy, and Vive will eventually be available in the Brew Mobile Platform. Neer and Vive are available in the iPhone App Store today. Qilroy is also available in the Android Market today.
