Intel to Buy Infineon's Wireless Biz for $1.4 Billion

Intel today announced its intent to acquire Infineon's wireless solutions business for $1.4 billion. Intel will pay cash for Infineon's wireless segment, which makes chips for smartphones. Infineon Wireless Solutions will become a standalone business owned by Intel. The firms expect the deal to close during the first quarter of 2011.
