Danger last week announced that it has signed an agreement with Sun Microsystems to license J2ME™ technology. As part of the agreement, Danger will soon launch products that are compliant with the CLDC and MIDP Java standards. Users of hiptop® devices will soon have access to a broad range of Java applications and games, offered by carriers as over-the-air downloads directly to devices. The move will open the company's hiptop® platform to the millions of Java™ developers worldwide.
