Intel Outlines New Mobile Chip Plans

Intel yesterday outlined plans for its next generation of processor chips for mobile devices. The line of chips, code-named "Bulverde", will incorporate three new technologies. Intel® Quick Capture Technology will enable better still and video image quality, for lower cost, in future camera phones. Wireless Intel SpeedStep® Technology adds new low-power modes to extend battery life. Finally, Intel® Wireless MMX™ technology will allow software developers to create high-performance mulimedia applications for mobile devices. Additional details about the chips are expected to be available in the first half of 2004.
