AT&T Pushes Landline Voicemail to Smartphones
Oct 1, 2010, 9:47 AM by Eric M. Zeman
AT&T today announced the AT&T Voicemail Viewer application, which lets its U-verse landline customers view and access their home voicemails from their smartphone. AT&T says the new application acts similar to email, and allows users to mark voicemails as read or unread, forward voicemails to email addresses, return missed home calls from their mobile phone with one touch, and add contacts to their smartphone address book. Further, AT&T Wireless and U-verse customers have the option to combine their landline and wireless voicemail inboxes, as well as check messages from their PC or TV. The application, which initially works with the iPhone and BlackBerry OS, is free to download and use.
