Nokia Unveils Photo Accessories, 3G Phone

Nokia today unveiled five new devices for displaying photos from camera phones, as well as the company's second 3G phone. Nokia's new Imagewear line of wearable accessories can be worn as necklaces, and display photos transmitted via infrared. The Medallion I & II models can store up to eight photos and also display time. The Kaleidoscope model can also display photos stored on MMC cards. The Imagewear line will be available first quarter 2004. Nokia also announced the Nokia Image Frame, a larger device that can store and display up to 50 photos received via infrared. The first Image Frame will be available next quarter. A second model, to be released later, will add GSM for the ability to receive photos via MMS. In addition, the company also announced its second 3G phone - the Nokia 7600 - which sports a unique compact design. The phone will not operate on North American networks.
