Oct 13, 2010, 7:30 AM by Eric M. Zeman
Qualcomm today announced that its Qualcomm Innovation Center unit has acquired iSkoot Technologies for an undisclosed sum. iSkoot, which has been around since 2005, mobilizes social networking services for cell phones, reducing data consumption and providing handset makers and network operators with an alternative to fully featured social networking applications. Verizon Wireless, for example, uses iSkoot's technology on its feature phones. iSkoot is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Qualcomm Innovation Center.
