Samsung Developing Joint Phone-TV Platform
Oct 20, 2010, 6:58 AM by Eric M. Zeman
Samsung has revealed its plans to market a new platform that will be shared across its mobile devices and its television sets. "We have a plan to have a single platform for Samsung TV and phones," Kyungsik Kevin Lee, vice president at Samsung's Visual Display Division, told Reuters in an interview. The platform is still in development, and Lee wasn't able to provide a timeline for its launch. In late 2009, Samsung launched its own smartphone platform, called Bada. Bada devices are only available in Asian and European markets. It is unclear if this new platform would be for feature phones, smartphones, if it would replace Bada or it if it would coincide with Bada.
