Asustek Confirms Upcoming Split with Garmin
Oct 25, 2010, 7:50 AM by Eric M. Zeman
Asustek Computer today confirmed earlier reports that it will seek to end its business relationship with Garmin once their current contract expires. Asus and Garmin have co-developed several smartphones that are focused on providing high-quality navigation features. They shipped one device, the Nuvifone, through T-Mobile in the summer of 2010. The device failed to sell many units, and Garmin in September announced that it was weighing the future of its smartphone business. Asus said it will provide more details about the split on Tuesday.
