Google today launched Google Maps 4.6 for Android smartphones. The improved app brings the Places pages in line with the new look of their new desktop counterpart. Users will also find improved search filters, including an "Open Now" filter and a filter by Neighborhood option. Finally, Google Latitude users can now update their location more frequently with real-time updating, a new experimental feature. The improved Google Maps app is available for phones running Android 1.6 and better.
