The FCC today issued clarification on several issues related to wireless number portability, while remaining silent on other key questions raised by carriers and the CTIA. Today's statements address wireless-to-wireless porting, while the FCC says clarification on wireline-to-wireless issues is forthcoming. Among today's statements is a rule that wireless number porting should take no more than two-and-a-half hours. The issues still to be clarified include what types of wireline numbers can be ported to wireless.
