The U.S. International Trade Commission has indicated that it will hear out Motorola's patent complaints against competitor Apple. The ITC said in a statement that it "has voted to institute an investigation of certain wireless devices, portable music and data processing devices, computers and components thereof. The products at issue in this investigation are electronic devices such as cell phones, portable music players, and computers." Motorola sued Apple over 18 different patents. It says the lawsuit was necessary, as Apple refused to sign a licensing agreement with Motorola. Apple later countersued Motorola.
