Facebook Brings 'Places' to BlackBerry App
Nov 10, 2010, 8:57 AM by Eric M. Zeman
Research In Motion today announced a new version of its Facebook application for BlackBerries. The new version's biggest change is the addition of Facebook Places, the location-aware feature that allows users to check onto venues and place. Within the Places function, users will be able to tag friends, add venues, see who's visited venues previously, and like friends' check ins. Facebook Places will also integrate with BlackBerry Maps, and display the location on a map. Other updates to the app include improved search functionality and updated contact views and tools. Last, the Facebook application for BlackBerry has now been linked to BlackBerry 6's Unified Search feature. The software is a free download from BlackBerry App World.
