Facebook Messages Integrates Texts and Email Across Platforms
Nov 15, 2010, 1:33 PM by Philip Berne
Facebook today took the wraps off of Facebook Messages, an update to Facebook's existing messaging service that incorporates email, SMS text messages and instant message chats into a single service. The new Messages feature will use Facebook's social graph, including your friend lists and the web of connections created, to prioritize messages from people you might know, and sort out messages from people who are not in your social circle. Facebook Messages will work with the social network's mobile apps. Messages will be presented in a threaded style, so users will see all incoming messages combined into one longer conversational format.
