AT&T Wireless Taps Lucent for Miami 3G Network

Lucent Technologies today announced that it is working with AT&T Wireless to deploy a 3G W-CDMA/UMTS trial network in the Miami area. The deployment is currently underway, with a series of voice and data calls on the network already completed successfully. The network incorporates Lucent's Flexent® OneBTS® base stations and core packet networking solution, including the Lucent Softswitch and data networking platforms from Cisco. The network will operate in AT&T Wireless' 1900 MHz spectrum.
