Camera Phone Makers Sued By Caltech

The California Institute of Technology is suing a number of handset and component manufacturers over infringement on nine patents related to cell phone camera technology. Caltech claims that manufacturers including LG, Nokia and Pantech, a well as chipmakers, including STMicro NV, willfully infringed on the university's patents, and the school is seeking compensation for damages. The suit was filed on November 24 in federal court in Los Angeles.
