LG and VMware Partner for Smartphone Virtualization
Dec 7, 2010, 9:48 AM by Eric M. Zeman
LG and VMware today announced a new partnership that will allow LG's smartphones to run both work and personal accounts on one device through virtualization. The tool is aimed at businesses and will let them better manage employee-owned smartphones. Business IT departments will be able to install a work account that runs in isolation from the user's personal account on the device. That work account can be kept secure while allowing the user to transition from work to personal modes easily. LG is hoping that this software, which is first available to Android-based smartphones, will help improve its presence in businesses.
