At the ITU World Telecom trade show held in Geneva earlier this month, both LG and Samsung showcased new phones that work on both CDMA2000 and WCDMA networks. The phones are designed to allow Koreans wth CDMA service at home to roam on WCDMA 3G networks in other countries. Samsung's as-yet unnamed dual-band phone is compatible with both CDMA2000 1xEV-DO and WCDMA. LG's KW2000 has both CDMA2000 1x and WCDMA modes, and is expected to be available in mid-2004.
