Google has announced a major redesign of the Android Market, which will be rolled out to all Android devices running 1.6 and higher over the next two weeks. Google says the impetus behind most of the changes it to aid in app discovery and navigation throughout the market. Google has added a carousel to the home and category screens, which will let users quickly sift through promoted apps. Google has also added two new categories, one for Widgets and the other for Live Wallpapers. Apps that include widgets or live wallpapers will automatically be added to those categories, and Google said more refinement to the categories in on the way. Google has done away with the tabbed app information screens and now renders all the data on a single page, making it easier to learn about each individual app. Google said that it has reduced the refund window to 15 minutes. Users who don't seek a refund for an app purchase in that window won't able to request one later. The market will also add parameters that allow developers to target specific devices, based on screen size and resolution. Last, Google is upping the maximum size of applications to 50MB, which Google says is mostly to allow for better games. Google said that it will continue to update the Android Market over time.

But man, I didn't know Apps couldn't be larger than 50MB. I've got a game on my iPhone that's around 400MB. I wonder why they made such a restriction...
Previous to this, the limit was 15mb
