Bluetooth 1.2 Formally Adopted
Nov 6, 2003, 12:11 PM by (staff)
The Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) today announced the adoption of Bluetooth Version 1.2. The new specification includes several important improvements, but no completely new features. One key addition is Adaptive Frequency Hopping (AFH), which allows Bluetooth the better co-exist with other wireless technologies, such as Wi-Fi. Other changes improve voice connections in noisy environments, and speed up initial connection set-up. The standard is fully backward-compatible with previous versions.
