Qualcomm Announces 1.2GHz Processor and LTE Chip

Qualcomm today announced the MSM8655 SnapDragon processor and the MDM9600 Long Term Evolution modem module. The new SnapDragon processor runs at 1.2GHz and has advanced Adreno graphics support. The LTE module is fully backward compatible with Verizon's EVDO Rev. A/B 3G network. Together, these chips will form Qualcomm's flagship LTE modem and processor for 2011. According to Qualcomm, Verizon Wireless will introduce devices at CES this week with these chips inside them.
