AT&T to Launch New Location Services for Business
Jan 5, 2011, 11:24 AM by Philip Berne
At its annual AT&T Developer Summit today in Las Vegas, AT&T has announced it will show off its new AT&T Location Information Services. This expands AT&T's existing Mobile Resource Management services, bringing location-aware tracking for corporate assets, employee devices and consumer handsets. With a Location Xchange Gateway from LOC-AID Technologies, business users can use x/y coordinate tracking, geofencing, geocoding and location information to track customers and mobile devices. This should help businesses create solutions for fraud prevention, mobile marketing and device authentication, as well as providing mobile analytics and asset tracking. Similarly, AT&T is also working with TechnoCom's Location Platform as a turn-key location and messaging service. TechnoCom's platform can enable a wide range of potential services, including roadside assistance, fraud protection, mobile advertising, and personal or family security.
