Casio has unveiled a watch that can pair with cell phones using the new Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) spec. Though phones that use BLE have yet to hit the market, Casio says its prototype watch will pair with upcoming phones for ringing and vibration as well as incoming message notification, all while maintaining battery life similar to existing, non-Bluetooth watches. With 12 hours of Bluetooth use each day, Casio says the prototype should still run for 2 years before the battery needs to be replaced.
