Alcatel-Lucent Using Verizon's LTE For Video Conferencing
Jan 5, 2011, 1:23 PM by Philip Berne
Alcatel-Lucent has announced new initiatives to use Verizon Wireless' new LTE network for enhanced video conferencing features. Mobile Video Routing from Alcatel-Lucent will allow users to route video from a variety of sources, including mobile phone devices, Webcams and IP camera feeds, into one seemless feed. The video can be adjusted and distributed based on user-specific attributes such as geographic location, time of day and local points of interest. In addition, Alcatel-Lucent is working with the Georgia Institute of Technology to create new Augmented Reality Video Conferencing services that will run on Verizon's LTE network.
