Google Fixing Long-Standing Android SMS Bug
Jan 5, 2011, 5:13 PM by Philip Berne
In an update on the Google Android bug tracker site, Google has acknowledged the issues surrounding the apparent SMS text messaging bug in Android device. Google claims the problem is actually two distinct issues, one of which has to do with how the message is displayed, and the other with how the message is delivered. Google says it has fixes for both issues. Presumably, pure Google devices like the two Nexus phones will receive a fix over-the-air, while carrier- and manufacturer-tweaked phones will need to wait for updates from the respective parties involved.
