Google Updates Goggles for Android and iPhone
Jan 10, 2011, 2:04 PM by Eric M. Zeman
Google today provided an update for its Goggles visual search tool for both the Android and iOS platforms. First, Goggles performs much faster at scanning barcodes. Second, Goggles can now recognize print advertisements. Google says that Goggles can be used to take pictures of ads, which Google will then search for and return web-based results depending on the content in the ad. Google says the new feature works with all U.S.-based newspapers and magazines from August 2010 forward. The updates for both Android and iOS versions of Goggles are free.
