Nokia Phones No Longer 'Coming With Music'
Jan 17, 2011, 8:09 AM by Eric M. Zeman
Nokia has decided to shutter its Comes With Music service in 27 markets after just over two years. The service bundled free music with select handsets for one year from the purchase date. The service launched in the U.K. first, followed by other markets during the early parts of 2009 and was supported by all four of the major music labels. It gained little traction, about which one spokesperson said, "The markets clearly want a DRM-free music service." Customers will continue to have access to their music until their current subscription runs out.
