Number Portability Day One: Switchers Hesitant

The first reports are in from the first day of number portability. The number of people actually moving their number came in well below predictions of up to 9 million, although several carriers reported sharply higher traffic at their retail stores and web sites. As expected, some glitches were encountered, particularly with AT&T Wireless, the only top-six carrier not using TSI Connections as the intermediary to handle porting requests.
