Sprint Launches Video Messaging

Sprint today announced its new Video Mail service, allowing customers to capture and share video clips up to 15 seconds using one of two new phones. The service costs a flat $5 per month, and is integrated with the company's existing Picture Mail still-photo service. The company is releasing two new phones this month that support the service: the VM4500 by Sanyo and the VM4050 by Toshiba. The offering is powered by a customized application service built on the LightSurf 5 Open Standards MMS Platform.

I think it works as about as good as can be expected, its no Sony Handycam, but give it a few years

So any word yet on inter-carrier Video and Picture messaging?

Like the title says, when are we going to be able to send pics and videos to our friends who have video and picture compatible phones on Verizon or the GSM networks?
