TI, ST Announce CDMA Chipset

Texas Instruments (TI) and STMicroelectronics (ST) today announced their first complete CDMA chipset. The companies first announced their partnership and intent to offer the chipset in May. The 4-chip set includes a digital baseband chip from TI, analog baseband and power chip from ST, and transmitter and receiver chips from TI. The chips provide phone makers with an alternative to those offered by CDMA powerhouse Qualcomm. Samples are available immediately.
