Nokia Makes Sweeping Organizational Changes

In concert with its changed smartphone strategy, Nokia announced that it will re-organize its internal structure moving forward. Nokia will now have two main units: Smart Devices, and Mobile Phones. The Smart Devices unit will be responsible for Windows Phone 7, Symbian and MeeGo products and it will be led by Jo Harlow. The Mobile Phones unit will be responsible for low-cost products aimed at developing markets and it will be led by Mary McDowell. Nokia has also re-cast its leadership chart. The Nokia Leadership Team includes Stephen Elop, Esko Aho, Juha Akras, Jerri DeVard, Colin Giles, Rich Green, Jo Harlow, Timo Ihamuotila, Mary McDowell, Kai Oistamo, Tero Ojanpera, Louise Pentland and Niklas Savander. The organizational changes go into effect starting April 1.
