New QuickTime Supports Mobile Multimedia Standards

Apple® today announced QuickTime® 6.5, the first mainstream media architecture to fully support all major audio and video standards for both CDMA, GSM, and 3G mobile phones. The software supports creation and playback of a plethora of standards, including the native 3GPP and 3GPP2 file formats. Supported codecs include AAC, AMR, QCELP, MPEG-4, and H.263. QuickTime 6.5 also supports the emerging 3G Timed Text and Movie Fragments standards. The free software is available immediately from Apple's web site, for Mac® and Windows PCs.
